The Premier Basketball League is pleased to announce that Anthony Anderson of the Manchester Millrats has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 21, 2010. This is the first time this season that a Millrat has been named Player of the Week.
Anderson, a 5'11", 195-pound point guard from the University of Massachusetts, has been a sparkplug for the Millrats since his return to the team from an overseas tryout; he was the leading scorer, with 23 points, in a Sunday night matchup against Puerto Rico. But it was his heroics on Saturday night, in a home game against the Vermont Frost Heaves, that clinched this week's honor. With the score tied 111-111 and seconds on the clock, Anderson's last-second jumper, as the buzzer went off, was the winning basket for Manchester.
